To develop anti-doping measures in Nepali sports, the Nepal Olympic Committee, in collaboration with the Korean Anti-Doping Agency (KADA), conducted a two-day training to Trainer session for 'Doping Control Officers' (DCO). The training, which took place at the NOC building in Satdobato, marks a historic milestone as the first-ever DCO trainer training program held in Nepal.
The training program was inaugurated by Presdient of NOC Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, the President of NOC, and saw the participation of three experts from KADA, namely Myung Soo-Kim, Kijo Han, and Minjong So, who acted as trainers. The program was attended by six individuals, including medical professionals Dr. Saroj Krishna Shrestha, Dr. Nabees Man Singh Pradhan, Dr. Gyanendra Vikram Shah, Dr. Susan Baidya, Dr. Asim Subedi, and Ms. Pooja Bhandari.
Adding further support to Nepal's anti-doping efforts, KADA extended its assistance by providing essential materials for doping tests approximately worth 16 Lakhs rupees to the medical commission under the Nepal Olympic Committee. This support is expected to strengthen the country's capabilities in conducting doping tests independently, as previously, the DCO production required going abroad or relying on foreign trainers.
In the closing ceremony all the participants were given certificates and the Korean Delegates were also honored. In the program Executive Board Members of NOC were also present.
