Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) Vice President Chaturananda Rajbaidhya and Secretary Ramesh Shiwakoti participated in the Training Workshop for School and Health Practitioners on NCD Risk Reduction and Sustained Physical Activity, held on 26 November 2025 at the Central Office of the Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN), Pulchowk, Lalitpur.
The event was organized by Health Concern and PATH, in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacity of school principals, teachers, sports practitioners, and health professionals to promote healthier lifestyles and reduce the risks of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) among students and communities.
During the program, NOC Vice President Mr. Chaturananda Raj Vaidya delivered remarks on the Olympic Movement, highlighting its core values of excellence, friendship, and respect, and emphasizing the role of sports in fostering healthy, active, and disciplined communities.
Main Objectives of the Workshop
Strengthen the understanding of the relationship between sports, physical activity, and overall student health—physical, mental, and social.
Identify the key role of teachers in fostering healthy and active lifestyles within schools.
Build knowledge on the benefits of incorporating sports and health activities into everyday school and home environments.
Support the practical application of strategies to encourage student participation in sports and physical activity.
Promote sports and health in schools and homes through teamwork, planning, and collaboration with parents and communities.
The presence of NOC officials provided motivation and encouragement to participants, reinforcing the importance of sports and physical activity in improving national health outcomes.
